Hi!
This is the last post of this
year.
guess
what topic of today is!
I'll give you some
hints!
Look at those pictures!
Today's topic is...
South-Eastern from Ulleungdo,
78.5km along to waterway,
a lonely island,
home of birds.
Dokdo Island!
Isn't it beautiful?
Dokdo consists of two islands and is made from lava.
It is way far than Ullengdo and located in the end of Eastern of Korea.
The seas surrounding Dokdo are rich fishing grounds for its abundance of anadromous species, area of probability for Hydrate, and also has oil resource-holding potential.
In short, Dokdo is valuable for its seabed resources.
Dokdo is in the middle of East Sea, in the intersection point of military operation's spectrum of Northerest Asian countries.
And Dokdo is also valuable for it's seaway or air line route.
Having great value as I mentioned above, dokdo is full of tourists every time.
So, now I think it's time to listen to this song!
Have you ever listened to this song?
The title of this song is <독도는 우리땅, Dokdo is Korean territory>.
The lyrics and the main topic are about
seafoods from Dokdo and the truth that Dokdo is Korean territory.
Don't worry!
I prepare english version of this song!
So, now you can understand what it means?
How about singalong together! It's easy and fun!
Dokdo certainly belongs to Korea.
Do you want to know the reason why?
Let's take a look about geographical position of Dokdo.
Ulleungdo is the nearest island from Dokdo, and if the weather is fine,
you can see Dokdo with your own two eyes from Ulleungdo.
So Dokdo has been counted as a part of Ulleungdo.
Dokdo is away about 87.4km from Ulleungdo.
On the other hand, Oki island, which is one of Japanese islands and the nearest one from Dokdo, is away 157.5km from Dokdo.
With only geographical position, it's certain that Dokdo belongs to Korea.
We can't go on without historical basis!
In the early compilation book written by Chosun government, '세종실록지리지‘(1454),
Ulleungdo and Dokdo are marked as belongings to '강원도', which is a province in Koreaa.
These two islands were, in the beginning of 6th century,
recorded as a territory of Usan-guk, which was once a vassal state of Silla.
Also, there is a mark of 'Usando' as a territory of Chosun in '신중동국여지승람팔도총도',
a map made in 1530. 'Usando' is an old name of Dokdo.
And, we can find another mark of Dokdo as a territory of Chosun
and within Chosun's provinces in '대한제국 관보' made in 1990.
It is not the end.
In Japanese historical references, we can find the clear statement that Dokdo is our territory.
And papers from Japanese government issued, which is prove Dokdo is Chosun's territory.
About a hundred years ago, Japanese government produced a map.
And the important thing, in the map, is that Dokdo was NOT transcribed as a territory of Japan.
we can find the
Kuril Islands (territorial dispute place between Russia and Japanese) in
'대일본국전도' which is a map made in 1880 and revised in 1883 by Japanese government,
but there isn't any mark of Dokdo and Ulleungdo.
Now, we're sure that you got it clearly!
Dokdo is Korean territory!
Today, we studied
about two beautiful volcanic islands of Korea.
now it's time to say
goodbye!
Bye!
